Meet the founder

I’m Karim Majid, founder of The Karim Standard, an Army veteran, case manager, and group facilitator.

I started TKS to make buying decisions easier to understand. A chair can look impressive in a listing and still be wrong for the person buying it. My aim is to help you see the practical tradeoffs before you commit your money.

I want each evaluation to answer the questions that matter at your desk: whether the adjustments are useful, whether the chair’s dimensions suit your needs, what the buying terms cover, and whether the benefits justify the price. A recognizable name or an impressive specification sheet still needs evidence behind it.

Who we’re here for

We begin with office and computer chairs for people who spend time at a desk and want their purchase to make sense. We pay particular attention to larger and taller users, people who value accessible controls and easier setup, and buyers balancing comfort with a realistic budget.

Fit is personal. We examine a chair’s intended users and practical dimensions, while keeping the limits of the available evidence visible.

How we earn your trust

• Show the criteria. Our office-chair scorecard covers 11 categories totaling 100 points. You can inspect the category scores and the reasoning behind them.
• Explain the evidence. Our first two chair evaluations are Research Previews. TKS has not physically tested either chair. We distinguish manufacturer information, independent firsthand reports, owner accounts, and our own research judgments.
• Keep money out of the score. Affiliate relationships, commissions, supplied products, and sponsorships do not determine ratings or conclusions. Relevant commercial relationships belong alongside the recommendation; our Affiliate Disclosure explains the current position.
• Account for changes. Finalized scores are frozen. Material new evidence, corrected facts, significant price changes, product revisions, or substantial additional testing can justify a documented update.

The Meets The Karim Standard seal requires a score of at least 90, no Disqualifying Fundamental Flaw, and completed TKS physical testing. Neither of our current Research Previews receives the seal.
